Pentek PCC218 Customer Questions & Answers

Question:When to change filter? Is the amount of beads an indicator?
Answer(s):

Unfortunately, there is no easy indicator of when the PCC218 needs to be replaced, however, the beads do slowly dissolve over time so you are correct that the amount of beads remaining is an indicator. I would certainly replace it when the remaining beads are no longer able to treat the water to a satisfactory level.

Question:What is the difference between cbc-10 filters and cfbc-10 filters?
Answer(s):

The CFBC series uses a proprietary technology to place a powdered activated carbon into a cellulose-free synthetic fiber material, whereas the CBC Series is a traditional carbon block. The advantage of the proprietary design of the CFBC series is that it will offer less pressure loss (better flow rate performance) and longer life.
