RFC-20BB cartridges are constructed with a 70-micron porous polyethylene outer shell and durable polypropylene end caps. The 2-3/4" OD cartridges have a polypropylene core and the 4-1/2" OD cartridges incorporate a spun polypropylene core. Sandwiched between the outer shell and the core is a bed of granular activated carbon (GAC).

The unique radial flow design offers the benefits of granular activated carbon (GAC) filtration, such as low pressure drop, while at the same time significantly reducing the release of carbon fines commonly associated with GAC style cartridges.

  • Provides effective chlorine taste & odor reduction
  • Unique design reduces carbon fines in filtered water

High Flow5 Stars
I used this filter to replace my old carbon filter in my whole house system. The old filter restricted flow. This one does not seem to at all and it works great on the chlorine taste and smell. - Cara H

I was worried I was never going to find the right filter to fit our Aquativa water system once the company we used to use went out of business. I search the internet and happen to find Home Plus Water. I spoke with one of their Aquativa specialist and she was so helpful in finding a close match to the one we used to use. When it arrived my husband installed it and it works perfectly! It’s even better than the previous one! Thank you for saving us! - Phoebe Coble

Pentek RFC-20BB Customer Questions & Answers

Question:How long do I run the water after changing the filter?
Answer(s):

After you change a carbon filter, you should generally run water for about 5 minutes after it is installed. All carbon filters contain some "fines." These are basically tiny pieces of fine carbon that will be flushed out of the filter when it is first put into service. This is why the first little bit of water that comes out of a new carbon filter often looks grey or even black. These are usually flushed away in the first 30 seconds or so, but running a bit longer will ensure they are all flushed out before you start using your filter.

Question:What is the difference between cbc-10 filters and cfbc-10 filters?
Answer(s):

The CFBC series uses a proprietary technology to place a powdered activated carbon into a cellulose-free synthetic fiber material, whereas the CBC Series is a traditional carbon block. The advantage of the proprietary design of the CFBC series is that it will offer less pressure loss (better flow rate performance) and longer life.
